New Year.

Okay, so I haven't posted in awhile and here are my excuses.
1- Many holidays, including a princess party (details to follow)
2- Work. Which has been not great, and crazy, crazy busy. I mean it is not bad, I have a job that I like but there were some issues and blah blah blah.
3- I have been working on Hazel's 2007 yearbook. I made one for her first year of life and it was awesome and she loves it. I keep meaning to get to the other years but stuff gets in the way. But, I am determined to finish it. I just got done with August 2007. Now, I am no fancy scrapbooker (like Candi, who is the pinnacle of all that I could hope to be when it comes to documenting) but there is something nice about having actual pictures that you can touch and hold instead of just the internet. Plus, we had some archive problems and I really can't rely on pixels. Or whatever makes the internets.

And, not an excuse, but a sad note. Our little dog Triscuit has been losing weight and we took him to the (on-call) vet last month and she said that old dogs (he is 9) sometimes lose weight and it is fine. Except it is not. So, I called today and Geoff took him to the REAL vet and they ran tests and took x-rays and it turns out he is in kidney failure. As in they gave us 6 (SIX!) cans of food and said if something happens before he eats all of them to bring them back for a refund. He is still happy and energetic so there is nothing to be done except feed him special food and an antibiotic (I think) to help him gain some weight. If he can gain some weight he may live a little longer. And if he doesn't and starts to get sad or uncomfortable or something we are supposed to take him in so they can put him down. The vet (who we love for good reason) even got a little choked up about when bad things happen to dogs who he has taken care of since they were puppies.

So, it is a crappy day. I don't want to explain this to Hazel.

The end

Oh, darn it. I am so sorry to hear about poor little Triscuit. You have been such good dog owners, and have taken great care of them.

Sorry about the t-money! I hope he gets better and that he eats all six cans of food. And maybe don't tell Hazel until it gets worse.

If it gets worse! Which it won't, he will outlive us all!!

What a sad thing. Triscuit is such a part of the family. We will hope that he eats all 6 cans and needs many, many more.

Oh, I'm sorry. I know how hard that can be. I still haven't been able to get another dog because it was just too hard to see cricket get old. Even if she was a crazy dog that didn't like anybody but my family. Good luck, I hope she eats all six cans of food and gains some weight!
